Why a Bed Race?

Did you know that Bell Socialization Services provides housing supports and residential services for hundreds of people in the greater York/Hanover community every year? Through Bell programs, homeless families find emergency shelter and transitional housing, people with intellectual disabilities receive 24/7 care in homes in neighborhoods throughout York and Adams counties, and individuals living with mental illness receive varying levels of support while staying in safe apartments and houses.

While these are only some of the many programs Bell offers, they are a big part of what we do to help people find the empowerment they need to improve their lives, and they are the reason you’ll want to choose this out-of-the-box event as your new favorite.

What is a Bed Race, anyway?

You know how to make a bed, right? Tighten the sheets, pull up the covers, fluff the pillows. Well this isn’t that.

For Bell’s Big Bed Race, you get together with your mates and BUILD a bed (or at least something that resembles a bed). And then you put wheels on it, choose one person to ride while four others push, and you race against another team doing the same thing. Sounds like a blast, doesn’t it?

Once you register to race, follow the steps below to create a fundraising team to make even more of an impact.
